Darlene Neu

The Money Collective Founder, Money Mentor, Financial Wellbeing Coach and Mortgage Broker

I am co-founder of our business, The Money Collective. Our aim is to get people talking more honestly about money and to have a better understanding of money, so it is not a taboo subject but one that empowers people to make their own choices, build financial independence and achieve their goals and vision.

I believe the best way I can make a difference and support others is through financial education, sharing knowledge, connecting people and building communities to enhance wellbeing. After many years holding senior positions in corporate organisations, I really wanted to run my own business so leapt in.

I love people and business, and I am passionate about making a difference in people’s lives and in the finance industry. Money is so fundamental and comes with so much emotion and conditioning. I really want to change the rules so that money stops being a sensitive topic. I want people to stop thinking money is stressful, because money isn’t the end goal it’s just a vehicle for us to achieve our life goals. I love what we have built at The Money Collective and so grateful for all the people in it!

In addition to The Money Collective, I love hanging out with my wonderfully supportive and loving family - my husband Dennis, my son Logan and daughter Lily. I have a desire for travel and am a tennis junkie (though I watch much better than I play). I care about my health and wellbeing and I think of myself as a continuous work in progress. I love the countryside. I am from small town in Northern Tasmania and have grown up on a farm - it will always be my home and it is where I get my love for small business and community.

Mel Pearce

The Money Collective Founder, Financial Wellbeing Coach, and Mortgage Broker

Meet Melissa, a dynamic and accomplished mortgage broker and business owner with over two decades of experience in the finance industry. Having started working in mortgage broking at the age of 18, Mel has been at the forefront of the industry for over 20 years.

After moving to Melbourne, at the age of 21 Melissa established her first mortgage broking business and later took on a mobile lending manager role at People's Choice Credit Union then at NAB, where she gained invaluable experience in banking and lending, as well as the internal mechanics of corporate business structure, retail sales, and management.

Her desire to create positive change in the industry led her to take a role where she met her now business partner Darlene, and together they started The Money Collective (TMC). Together with their over 50 years of learned experiences they created the TMC Financial Wellbeing Program. Their vision is to uplift Financial Wellbeing in Australia for both individuals and in the workplace. Melissa’s optimistic and courageous nature is evident in starting a business in the finance industry in her early 20’s and again with TMC as thought leader in financial wellbeing in her late 30’s.

Melissa is a qualified Australian Credit Representative since 2004 and a Mortgage and Finance Association of Australia accredited mortgage broker since 2004 and holds a diploma of Mortgage Broking Management. She has been running small businesses for over 20 years and has a deep understanding of what it takes to make positive change in the current landscape. Her experience in listening to people’s stories within the banking and lending context has allowed her to develop a unique perspective on the industry, and she has been able to leverage this expertise to help countless individuals achieve their financial goals.

Melissa is a trailblazer in the industry and a respected voice in the finance community. She is a member of the Women Supporting Women in Finance Group and is deeply committed to empowering women to take on leadership roles in the industry. She believes that the finance industry has the power to create positive change in the world, and she is dedicated to making that vision a reality.

In her own words, “I believe that the finance industry requires a combination of expertise, innovation, and a deep commitment to client satisfaction. At The Money Collective, financial wellbeing is at the centre of everything we do. We are committed to making a positive impact in the lives of our clients and the community at large through the development of our Financial Wellbeing Programs. At The Money Collective, we are creating a space where women can thrive and achieve their financial goals, and we are proud to be a part of a movement that is working towards greater gender equality and improved work culture."

SIMONE WHITEHEAD

Mortgage Broker

Being part of The Money Collective team is important to me because it’s so aligned to my passion for my community, my passion for living life authentically, and my passion for life long learning.

Bringing my past experience as a real estate agent and working in the neighbourhood house sector, I am glad to be able to offer a unique way of supporting people in our holistic approach to helping our clients reach their financial goals.

When I’m not meeting with clients and writing home loans, I enjoy making memories with my two children (teen and tween), and that usually involves hiking, nature photography, cooking and of course eating!

I love being in the company of friends and enjoying nature together, sharing a meal, or even singing a bit of karaoke for a good laugh.

Two things that are really important to me are kindness and being ethical, and I’m glad to be part of a business that helps others thrive.
